With good preparation, you will know when it is time for me to attend you. Most women benefit from contact by telephone with their Midwife, and support from those close to them, in the early part of labour. I join you once labour is establishing.

I will be on call for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your peace of mind.

If you think you are in labour you can call me at any time.

I will stay with you throughout your labour, keeping a careful eye on you and your baby’s well being.

For your peace of mind, I carry Entonox (gas & air) for pain relief, and resuscitation equipment for adult and baby.

Depending on the duration and timing of your labour I may call upon the services of a second midwife for the birth, but will always be managing your delivery.

Following the birth, I will only leave when I am satisfied that you and your baby are safely settled.

When working as a Birth Partner, or when necessary, I can accompany you to hospital, and support you and your partner emotionally through labour. The hospital will ultimately provide clinical care in this situation, but I will be able to advise you on all aspects of your care in hospital, empowering you to make informed choices about your labour.
